Drive Lab takes the fundamentals of Race Lab and adapts them to optimize every aspect of your daily commute (even fuel savings!)
We are a driving school tailored to offer students the same advanced driving techniques as Race Lab, but at a lower cost. Savings are achieved through conducting driver training that is not as on the limit as Race Lab’s standard mixed surface driver training.
All Drive Lab courses can be taught in school cars or your vehicle! Drive Lab packages always have an instructor present in the car. Our courses are taught on a combination of closed asphalt skidpads and public roads.
At Drive Lab we offer three tiers of training
Tier One is a full day course, which offers such basic techniques and skills as seating adjustment, turning the steering wheel, footwork.
Note: in the four years of conducting these courses, we have faced the reality that 95% of drivers in North America are not sitting properly behind the wheel of their car, nor can they steer their vehicle properly. This is due to the lack of quality mandatory driver training.
Students progress to working on vision, defensive driving, extreme braking in a straight line, braking in corners, basic racing line theory, slalom, reversing and timed exercises.
Timed drills adds both a fun and educational factor to Drive Lab, this also simulates various high stress situations that can occur in real life driving.
Tier Two is a full day course which takes you on city streets. You will be instructed on the vision techniques applicable to the realities of city driving. Distance, escape routes, ‘what ifs’, safest speed, smoothness of all inputs (especially lane changes) are some of the topics that will be covered.
At Drive Lab, you will be introduced to the reasons why using racing line (a.k.a. “driving line”) in daily driving is the most economical and safest way to navigate city streets. Using racing line is NOT ABOUT RACING, it simply makes running your car cheaper because it decreases tire, suspension, and steering mechanism wear, along with providing better fuel consumption. It is also makes you a more comfortable, safer and impressive driver in the eyes of your friends!
Tier Three is a full day course, in which students will implement the techniques from previous courses, adapting Drive Lab techniques to increase smoothness and safety on high speed highways in all weather conditions.
